Kitchen Island Dream

Back at work today and fantasizing about our new kitchen, which (hooray) already has an island! This beauty at Home With Heart would make a perfect island for a small kitchen! Marked down to $365 it is a total steal! The perfect height for preparing foods and for pulling up a stool! Roughly measures 36 square by 34 inches high! A distressed beauty!!

When One Door Close, Another One Opens. . .

*In the beginning, our house under construction circa 2008.
A friend reminded me today that "when one door closes, another one opens." I have been wanting to share some exciting news. For a while now we (Scotty & I) have been feeling cramped and out of space. At a loss for what to do with our present home, and having exhausted all future construction projects, we had been casualy looking to find a different home to house (long-term) our sweet family. A couple of weeks ago, we found it, and we knew immediately that we could see ourselves in it for the next 20+ years. We put in our offer without a second thought and to our disbelief the sellers accepted it.(For the record, never in a million years, did we think we would get it!) Although it is less than 4 miles away from our home in Dilworth , it seems a million miles away. After many tears and a long week spent preparing our house to go on the market, it went under contract in the blink of an eye. I am scared and excited and torn.

*Our new side door circa 2008.
We are reminding ourselves that it is an amazing opportunity to build a life that is not in "my tree house", but in a grown up space that we plan to spend many, many years in.
* Toot and Buggy: The Reason we built the porch in the first place. . .To swing little Sadie and a Cooper to be!

As soon as I can share more information with you,
 I will. . .I promise.

....I Went To Get A Manicure And Forgot To Vote

One of my favorite scene's in You've Got Mail is when Meg Ryan tells Greg Kinnear that in the last mayoral election she went and got a manicure and forgot to vote.

"In the last mayoral election...
...when Rudy Giuliani was running against Ruth Messinger...
...I went to get a manicure.
And forgot to vote.
Since when do you get manicures?
I suppose you could never be with a woman who got manicures?
It's okay. I forgive you.
You forgive me?
Excuse me, I'm sorry. Excuse me."

It's great, she proves she is really not all that serious or political and she just might be fun! I fall in love with her character all over again. Well I didnt forget to vote yesterday but I could have. After a super long day, when I should have been writing my column for the Quarterly or working on a blog, or well doing any number of productive things that I am ridiculously over committed to doing. . .I grabbed Sadie and we went and got manicures. Oh and on my way one of my besties called (girl you know who you are) and conned/bribed/forced me invited me over to have a fantastic glass of wine before (and don't gasp) five pm. I know right. . .how terribly wonderful of us! I then did our family ritual, I picked up pizza and a salad to go.

So if you are my editor and you read this, I promise to be on deadline. And if you are my friends, you know I will pull out a bag of tricks to get it done (somehow) on time. And if you are a reader of mine, maybe I am not so perfect after all. (If you ever thought that anyways.) I mean blogging and Hollywood are fabulously related. We clean it all up, edit it and send it right back out to the world exactly the way we want you to see it.

Now Back to reality, and thanks for all the love!

Check out the clip for a good laugh!Sorry for the pre commercials.

Always, Always. . .

Source: vwbblog.com via Chelsea on Pinterest

What an exciting week it has been! So many new and wonderful opportunities have presented themselves, that I can not help but believe came from the only and only way up high.

I am so thankful to be starting with Home With Heart in Myers Park. Wish me luck today as I head in to train with my favorite "shop girl" Sue. There will no doubt be more on that subject later!!!

Is it possible that all those polka dots from the last year, have turned into something quite beautiful?

Spring Break Round Up!

After 9 1/2 hours of driving the kids (and Mimi) were geared up for some hard core swimming!

Easter Sunday Brunch was very different this year at Downtown Disney's Bongo's Restaurant.

At Disney I finally confirmed my point that"bumpers should be used for bumping!!" I have a conspiracy theory that the insurance company's convinced the automobile industry to make fiberglass bumpers!

We took Wednesday off and just played in the pool!

Sadie and I got crazy at Prime Evil Whirl at Animal Kingdom.

Yes sir, that's us. . .That crazy family in the front row!

Sadie and Mimi rode Mt. Everest and were not afraid at ALL!

For some reason I can relate to this picture all to well!

Ahh man "were in Radiator Springs!"

By the last day at Epcot these two were best buddy's.

I got to see one of my best girlfriends Emily Lewis and tour one of her million dollar luxury Windemere listings. . . but you will have to tune back in to hear all about that!
