For the last year, I have been sharing a Jack & Jill bathroom with one messy husband, two demanding children and a slobbering, furry basset hound. After being hit in the back with a door knob at least 300 times, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Armed with a budget smaller than the cost of a large piece of furniture, I finally settled on eliminating the door to the bedroom, adding shaker style cabinets, granite (or maybe quartz) counter tops, a free standing storage piece and some killer lighting.
Just to prove my point, I thought I would share some of the before pictures:
Future home to the (wall to window) custom vanity!
Just enough room for one tall standalone cabinet with glass shelves!
Saying goodbye to my arch enemy was not hard at all! No more getting crushed by antique brass while trying to apply makeup!
Making more room for furniture in our Master Bedroom is exciting!
*This morning's progress.
I hired my dear friend Kathy Wilder to perfect the bathroom and to make sure I don't make any of my usual expensive mistakes!!
What do you think of her concept boards?
*Images were captured from various Internet sources. If we didn't give you props, please let me know, you deserve a big shout out!
Obviously, I am obsessed with both boards and since I could not possibly choose which one to go with.. .
We are going to do a combination of color schemes!
I am presently stuck between Benjamin Moore's putty gray Balboa Mist and Benjamin Moore's creamy green Athena for the cabinets. Then we will cut the color in 1/2 and use the lighter version for the walls!
Truly I could not have gotten this far without Kathy and I can not wait to share more progress as my "almost" Master Bath project comes to fruition!!
